My Portfolio

SENIOR ADS
These designs were originally created for my sister's "Senior Ad" in the Thomas County Central yearbook.
This is where the parents of the seniors give shout-outs, and seniors promote themselves in their accomplishments throughout school. She wanted a design that stood out amoungst the other senior ads, so instead of packing a million pictures on to a page, I created a simple, clean design that really popped out, and grabbed your attention.

BROCHURES

Keiser University Natural Birth Center Brochure

The nursing students of Keiser University came to me with a job to create a brochure for their Birth Center. They wanted me to make it feel as "welcoming" as possible, so I used pastel colors along with baby/mom pictures to give to that feeling.

AD CAMPAIGN

Here I was to create a poster and a flier that were both consistent and promoted one of the many services Factor X Fitness had to offer. I chose to promote Zumba. After doing some research, and having some experience with it myself, I started the design. Zumba is a really "high-energy" cardio workout. So, I used "loud" colors, like red, and used some silhouettes of people dancing to make it look like they were partying. I also balanced the background with white space.

NEWSLETTERS

The Keiser University Newsletter was a group project. I was in charge of writing about the D.A.M poster contest. This involved research, like finding out who won the and where the students were entering their posters from. I also helped take pictures for the "student survey". After taking the pictures, I had to make sure they were usable, so I went into PhotoShop and touched them out a bit. After my piece was roughed, I had to work along other students to make sure the piece came together as a whole.

LOGOS

Logo Contest Florida Assoc. of Veterans Education Specialist

The Florida Association of Veterans Education Specialist sent a letter to the teachers of the graphics department asking if we could enter a logo contest. They were a newly founded association. After I received some information about the company, I went to work on the design. My thought process included "helping hands, care, and harwork/loyalty". The colors I chose represented all of these, so I stuck with them.

POSTERS

MadCap Poster Design
This design was for the Multimedia and Design - Culinary Arts Program. It was to promote the K.U. expo, where both graphic design students and culinary art students would showcase their work to potential employers. We were given a template by our teacher to use, we were to design around this template. It was both challenging and fun.
Keiser University D.A.M (Design & Multimedia) Poster Contest

This poster was entered in the Best D.A.M poster contest. I theme behind this was "Design" and how it related to people. Everyone interprets design differently, so I went with an "abstract" theme with bright intense colors. Overall, I thought it flowed very well, and got the point across.

Factor X Fitness Zumba Poster
This poster was designed to promote Zumba class at Factor X Fitness. I wanted to have a loud picture, so I used an "emerging" trend, and took a whole picture and made it my background. I then added the "Join the Party" tagline to give the idea it isn't just a workout. I used red and orange colors to bring out the black and white photo- to give it a "pop".

STATIONARY SETS
Giraffe-The Fast Walker

This stationary set was my first design. I was given the name of a random animal. From there, I was to come up with a logo. I thought about this long and hard, and decided to use the giraffe's long neck as the "I" in the work "Giraffe". I also did some research, and giraffe literally means "The fast Walker", so that is where the tagline came into play. After that, I used the two main colors that makes up the giraffe: orange and brown. They contrasted nicely, so I kept the colors.
Thomasville Cheer and Dance Stationary
I was given a logo by the owner of the "Thomasville Cheer and Dance Studio". He wanted me to make a business card that represented his company (to promote business). After looking at the logo, I realized he had already chosen two main colors: red and black. Using that, I came up with a theme that was "different", I turned the text and gave it a "ticket" type theme.
